In the clouds

30 day challenge is DONE! Now in order to prepare for Teacher Training in April, I will continue with the 60 day challenge (with more doubles). Following the 60 day challenge I will then taper my practice off to 5 days a week. Then I will take it easy before training. By easy, I mean I will go 3-5 days a week and maybe step it back up right before I leave.

I will start memorizing the dialogue and experimenting with memorization technique. Teaching is a dream becoming a reality. My head is definitely a bit in the clouds. I can't wait to be surrounded by so many other trainees with the same goal.

Looking back, I have been passionate about a couple of things in my life, passionate and determined. These things include an expedition to Alaska at age 17 with NOLS, learning to snowboard, living fast, and living in the mountains. It's easy to focus on things we haven't done yet or fret about our shortcomings but taking stock of my life, I am proud of these things I have been passionate about.

Meal preparation and new yoga outfits (squeal) are at the forefront of my mind for teacher training. All 300-400 trainees will be staying in a hotel in Los Angeles, California with no kitchen albeit the bathroom sink and mini fridge to share with another person. That is two people to a room unless you pay for a single occupancy room. I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't mind being my loner self in a single room but when it comes down to it, I would rather spend that extra grand or two on a trip somewhere exotic.

Last post, I said there were no huge miracles that happened over the last 30 days other than positive breath work. I take that back. Breath work is important! Also, I have VERY broad shoulders and 'big' tits. I have spent the better part of my life slouching and trying to hide my broad shoulders in order to shadow my tits so as to create a leaner more lithe-like body line. (Please feel free to make fun of my ego here).

As a result, getting into my upper back in back bending postures has been a struggle because it feels like there is no connection with my upper back when I tell it to do something. In other words, the neuro pathways (if that is a thing) are blocked. I am happy to say that after 2 years of Bikram Yoga and 2 30 day challenges, I have finally gained a LITTLE mobility. I mean a VERY little, but it has begun

I am definitely entering the 'yoga bubble' already where everything I do, say, and much of what I think about is this Teacher Training. I think about how it will be the hardest and one of the most beautiful things in the world.

I'm so so excited for you. I really like your preparation method. It's very smart of you to do doubles for 60 days prior to BKTT. You have a strong sense of determination and focus which is palatable as a reader of your blog. I have no doubt you're going to ace it!! Really looking forward to following you in your journey. I'll be rooting you on!

Ching-a-ling. The 60 day challenge never came to fruition. I was actually advised to cool it a bit as not to burn out. They say we are never ready so we just have to go! Thank you for the kind words, keep them coming because I really value them.
